Ulipristal - Benefits, dosage and side effects

Ulipristal is an emergency contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy after sexual intercourse without using other forms of contraception, such as condoms. Keep in mind that this drug is not to be taken regularly like birth control pills.

Ulipristal contains progestins that work by preventing or delaying the release of eggs from the ovaries or thickening the fluid in the reproductive system, making it difficult for sperm to meet the egg.

This medicine cannot protect you from infection with HIV (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted diseases. Apart from being an emergency contraception, ulipristal can also be used to treat uterine fibroids (myoma).
