  • Do not use doripenem if you have a history of allergies to this drug or to other beta-lactam antibiotics.
  • Doripenem may trigger tremors and seizures in some users. Tell your doctor if you are taking anti-seizure medications, such as valproic acid or sodium valproate.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease, seizures, or stroke, before using doripenem.
  • Do not undergo typhoid vaccination while taking doripenem.

Doripenem Dosage and Instructions

Doripenem dosage is different for each patient. The following is the dosage of doripenem based on the condition:

  • Gastrointestinal infections

    Adult: 500mg every 8 hours, injected slowly over 1 hour. The drug is given for 5-14 days.

  • Urinary tract infection

    Adult: 500mg every 8 hours, injected slowly over 1 hour. The drug is given for 1-10 days.
