Recognize the Causes of Brain Bleeding

Brain hemorrhage is bleeding that occurs in brain tissue. This condition caused by rupture of vessels arteries in the brain until causes local bleeding in the surrounding tissue and death brain cells.

Many people who experience a brain hemorrhage have stroke-like symptoms, such as weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking, or numbness. Brain hemorrhage is a serious medical condition that requires immediate examination and treatment by a doctor at a hospital.

Types of Brain Bleeding

Generally, any bleeding that occurs within the brain is called a cerebral hemorrhage. However, based on the location of the occurrence, brain hemorrhage is divided into several types, including:

  • Subarachnoid hemorrhage

Bleeding that occurs in the brain tissue under the protective covering of the brain. This type of cerebral hemorrhage is often caused by rupture of a blood vessel in the brain due to an aneurysm, blood clotting disorder, or severe head injury.

  • Epidural and subdural hematoma

Blood clots that occur between the brain and the skull, can be above or below the membrane that protects the brain.

  • Intracerebral hemorrhage

Bleeding that occurs in the brain tissue itself. This type of cerebral hemorrhage can spread to the ventricular space of the brain and cause brain swelling.

This is the Cause of Brain Bleeding

There are several risk factors and causes of cerebral hemorrhage. The following are the most common causes of cerebral hemorrhage, namely:

  • Pressure ddirection thigh

High blood pressure or hypertension is a chronic (long-term) disease that can weaken the walls of blood vessels, including the blood vessels of the brain. If blood pressure is not controlled, over time this disease has the potential to cause a bleeding stroke (hemorrhagic stroke).

  • Injury kepala

Most occur in people under the age of 50 years. This condition is most likely caused by an accident or a fall. Traffic accidents, falls from a height, and sports-related head injuries are also common causes of cerebral hemorrhage.

  • Abnormalities preed ddirection

This condition, which can occur at birth, can weaken the walls of the blood vessels around and inside the brain. This abnormality is called an arteriovenous malformation. Patients with this disorder do not always complain of symptoms, but immediately blood vessels can burst and cause dangerous conditions.

  • Disturbance freezingddirection

Decreased platelets can also cause brain bleeding. Sickle cell anemia (a condition in which red blood cells are abnormally shaped), hemophilia (the body lacks protein for blood clotting), and taking blood-thinning medications can all contribute to this.

  • Swelling preed ddirection (aneurysm)

An aneurysm causes a weakening of a blood vessel, which can then rupture and cause bleeding within the brain. This condition can cause a stroke.

  • Angiopathy amyloid

Amyloid angiopathy is a condition in which blood vessel wall abnormalities occur due to age or hypertension. This condition can cause a lot of small bleeding that leads to larger bleeding.

Other things that cause brain bleeding include brain tumors and liver disease. Some causes of cerebral hemorrhage can be treated early. For example, by maintaining a healthy diet and living to avoid high blood pressure. You can also start to find out about hypertension prevention and treatment by consulting a doctor.

Symptoms of Brain Bleeding

Generally, someone who has a brain hemorrhage will experience a sudden severe headache, vomiting, confusion (delirium), and fainting. However, this is not always the case for everyone. Symptoms that appear depend on where the bleeding occurs. For example, if the part of the brain related to vision is bleeding, then a symptom that may appear is that the patient has visual disturbances.

Other symptoms that may occur in patients with cerebral hemorrhage are experiencing sudden seizures, impaired coordination and balance, and difficulty swallowing. If cerebral hemorrhage occurs in the lower part of the brain or brain stem, the patient can go into a coma, up to respiratory failure. While brain bleeding that occurs in the speech center, the patient may experience speech disturbances.

To evaluate brain damage, the doctor will determine which part of the brain is bleeding based on the symptoms that arise, as well as through a physical examination, and CT scan or MRI brain imaging tests. And if the location of the bleeding can be ascertained, the doctor will take appropriate treatment steps.

Brain hemorrhage is a medical emergency that needs to be treated immediately in the emergency department of the nearest hospital. If the cerebral hemorrhage results in coma or difficulty breathing, intubation may be required to administer artificial respiration. Infusion for administration of fluids and drugs is also required. If the condition worsens, brain hemorrhage needs to be closely monitored in the intensive care room at the hospital.
