Various Hair Growth Procedures
If you don't want to use hair growth drugs, baldness can be treated with the following medical procedures:
1. Microneedling
This procedure is commonly used to treat scars, cellulite, or brighten the face. But, at the moment, microneedling It has also been shown to be beneficial for promoting hair growth.
Procedure microneedling using a very small needle to stimulate stem cell activation (stem cells) on the hair roots and the release of various hair growth substances.
Injury to the scalp as a result of this procedure allows the hair growth serum that is applied afterwards to better absorb into the skin.
2. Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)
Blood plasma derived from the patient's own blood will be injected into the bald area. PRP works by improving blood circulation in the scalp and stimulating hair growth.
This therapy is classified as safe with minimal side effects, namely mild pain and swelling at the injection site. Apart from being injected, PRP can also be applied to the scalp after the procedure microneedling.
3. Low-level laser/light therapy(LLLT)
LLLT is a procedure that uses a special light to increase oxygen absorption in the scalp tissue and stimulate the release of hair growth substances.
This procedure is very convenient because the patient only needs to be irradiated using a device that emits this light. To be effective, this procedure needs to be done 2-3 times per week.
4. Hair transplant
If the area of baldness is too large, a hair transplant may be an option. In this procedure, the doctor performs surgery to remove an area of hairy skin which will then be implanted into the bald area. It can take several months for hair to grow at the transplant recipient site.
