Warning Before Using Cefdinir:
- Do not use cefdinir if you have a history of allergies to this drug or to other cephalosporin drugs.
- Tell your doctor if you have a history of allergies to penicillin drugs.
- Do not use cefdinir if you are taking probenecid, antacids, and medicines that contain iron.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, diabetes, and digestive disorders, such as colitis.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy.
- Tell your doctor if you want to be immunized or vaccinated with a live vaccine, such as the typhoid vaccine, BCG vaccine, or cholera vaccine.
- Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, including supplements, and herbal products.
- Tell your doctor if you are planning any surgery, including dental surgery.
- See your doctor right away if you have an allergic reaction or overdose after using cefdinir.
Dosage and Instructions for Use of Cefdinir
The dose and administration of cefdinir depend on the age of the patient. The following are a number of diseases caused by bacterial infections that can be treated with cefdinir:
- Ear infection
- Pharyngitis
- Tonsillitis
- Respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, sinusitis, or bronchitis
- Urinary tract infection

The following is the distribution of cefdinir doses:
Mature: 300–600 mg, 1–2 times daily for 5–10 days
Children aged 6 months–12 years: 7–14 mg/kg, 1–2 times daily for 5–10 days
How to Use Cefdinir Correctly
Use cefdinir according to the doctor's instructions or the information listed on the medicine package. Do not increase or decrease the dose without consulting your doctor first.
Cefdinir is available in the form of capsules and suspension powder. Cefdinir can be taken before and after meals once or twice a day.
