If your front teeth fall out, you may also feel insecure when you talk or smile. Therefore, it is very important to maintain the health of your teeth in order to prevent them from falling out.
Various Causes of Dislodged Teeth
Every adult has 32 permanent teeth. As you age, the risk of teeth experiencing various problems, ranging from infections, cavities, to dislodged teeth, will be higher
Gum disease (periodontal) is one of the main causes of tooth loss. Other causes of tooth loss include sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, blows to teeth during fights, biting on hard food, or falling and hitting teeth.
In addition, other factors that cause teeth to fall out are related to lifestyle, such as not maintaining dental hygiene and smoking habits.
How to Overcome Loose Teeth
Tooth loss is a serious problem that requires immediate medical attention. Loose teeth must be brought to the dentist within 30 minutes of the incident, so that they can be reattached.
The following steps you need to take when experiencing a loose tooth:
1. Take and ssavetooth
When a tooth falls out, all you have to do is pick it up by touching the crown of the tooth. After that, wash or rinse the teeth with warm water for no more than 10 seconds, to remove dirt on the teeth. Do not scrub or clean loose teeth with soap or other materials.
2. Put the teeth back in position
Rinse your mouth with warm water, then try to put the loose tooth back into position. Bite on gauze or a soft cloth to prevent the teeth from falling out. If this is difficult to do, soak the tooth in milk or keep it in the mouth between the gums and cheek to prevent dry teeth.
In children, loose milk teeth should not be returned to their position because it can interfere with the growth of new teeth.
3. Immediately contact the dentist
You should go to the dentist as soon as possible with the teeth you cleaned so they can be put back in. The longer you wait, the less likely it is that the tooth will be able to be reattached.
During preparation for going to the dentist, if there is bleeding, stop it by pressing the bleeding area with sterile gauze or a clean soft cloth.
In order not to experience a loose tooth, you need to take care of your dental health and be careful when doing activities, for example when exercising and driving. If your tooth falls out, follow the steps above and go to the dentist immediately.
