Nifuroxazide is an antibiotic drug used to treat acute colitis and diarrhea caused by bacterial infections Escherichia coli or Staphylococcus sp.

- Do not take nifuroxazide if you are allergic to this drug. Tell your doctor about any allergies you have.

Dosage and Instructions for Use of Nifuroxazide
Nifuroxazide syrup and suspension contains 250 mg of nifuroxazide in 1 teaspoon (5 ml). The following are the doses of nifuroxazide for diarrhea relief based on the patient's age:
- Mature: 5–10 ml, 3 times a day
- Children >6 months: 5 ml, 3 times a day
- Children < 6 months: 5 ml, 2 times a day
How to Take Nifuroxazide Correctly
Follow your doctor's advice and read the information listed on the drug packaging label before taking nifuroxazide. Do not reduce or increase the dose without consulting your doctor first.
Nifuroxazide syrup and suspension can be taken after meals. Shake the bottle before using the medicine. Use the measuring spoon provided in the medicine package for a more precise dose.

Nifuroxazide Interactions with Other Drugs
When used with certain drugs, nifuroxazide can cause drug interactions.
One is an increased risk of side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, headache, and increased heart rate, when used with cephalosporins, chloramphenicol, griseofulvin, metronidazole, or sulfonamides.
